WACO–The Texas Farm Bureau Friends of Agriculture Fund (AGFUND), Inc. has endorsed State Representative Lois Kolkhorst in the Senate District 18 Special Election on Dec. 6.
Texas Farm Bureau and AGFUND President Kenneth Dierschke announced Kolkhorst as the AGFUND choice to succeed Senator Glenn Hegar in the 21-county district.
"Our members tell us they can count on Lois to do what's right. She's a fifth-generation Texan, and we know she will fight for property rights," Dierschke said. "She is a qualified leader that we look forward to working with in the Senate, as we have in the House."
Kolkhorst sponsored legislation to kill the Trans-Texas Corridor. "Our members are grateful for that," he said.
Kolkhorst has said the corridor battle was the toughest fight of her life. She and her husband are ranchers and own Kolkhorst Petroleum.
The Special Election for Texas Senate District 18 will be Saturday, Dec. 6. Early voting begins Wednesday, Nov. 26 and ends Tuesday, Dec. 2. Some counties may be voting on Thanksgiving as well as Saturday and Sunday.
